Elderberry & Ginger with Cinnamon Tincture

Our Elderberry & Ginger with Cinnamon Tinctures are now available and ready to ship!

If you are familiar with elderberries, you may already be aware that they are considered an immune-boosting powerhouse. The variety we use is Sambucus Nigra, which is known for its potential to aid in the body’s natural healing process for cold and flu viruses, fever, seasonal allergies, sinus problems, and more. It’s no wonder that people have used Elderberry for centuries.

The Benefits

Elderberry has been said to remove toxins in the body, promote urine flow and bowel movements as well as reduce inflammation in joints, tendons, muscles, and ligaments. It also strengthens cell membranes to keep viruses from entering. In addition, elderberries are rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants are compounds that rid the body of harmful free radicals, which are responsible for many different degenerative diseases.

Ginger has also been valued for centuries. History speaks to this in Sanskrit and Chinese texts. This root has been used by many cultures including, but not limited to Greek, Roman, Arabic, and Unani Tibb healing traditions, traditional Chinese Medicine, and Ayurveda. Throughout the ages, ginger was used in traditional Chinese Medicine to support the lung, spleen, heart, and stomach meridians. It is believed that Ginger root supports healthy digestion and helps relieve occasional upset stomach and nausea. It is also known to be a powerful anti-inflammatory. It has antiviral properties, helps to increase circulation, and is soothing.

Similar to ginger, cinnamon is warming. It is believed to offer anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It is also believed to offer mild pain inhibitors.

Keep tightly capped and stored in a cool dry location.

Tincture General Benefits

While many of us are more accustomed to seeing elderberry offered as a syrup or a chewable gummy, these forms have a few drawbacks. They are not shelf-stable without additives and syrups are not very portable.

A tincture is shelf-stable for at least five years when kept tightly capped and stored in a cool dry location. A dropper bottle of tincture can easily fit into a purse or other carrier. A serving can be added to your favorite drink (tea, water, etc.), or even mixed with food (after it is cooked).

Concerned about alcohol content? A serving contains about the same amount of alcohol as a ripe piece of fruit. This process offers greater potency and concentration compared to other methods such as glycerite. That means you can use less (save money) and get the same results.
